Orino attacked by rays and has a detached gill.

My smallest orino was attacked in the night by one or more of my rays and now its gill is partially detached. Any idea if this fish is going to be okay and/or will this problem fix itself. It has been moved out of the ray tank for the time being to see if it will heal. It's gill plate is okay its the gill membrane behind the plate that has been ripped.

oh wow thats pretty bad id say 50-50 chance it heals correctly and not fatal

I'm rehabbing a 9 inch orino myself. My buddy 14 inch kelberis beat the heck out of him, oth eyes were messed up, 1 eye was totally red filled w/ blood and hanging out, all his fins were 1/2 gone and had lacerations on his body. However, he has made a 95% recovery eyes are pretty much healed up, fins are perfect and color is amazing. You would be surprised at their regenerative powers, all you need is clean water and salt w/ no attackers and that orino shold be fine IMO.

it should heal. I have caught LMB and injured the actual gills, healed up in a few weeks.
