~ Hey guys, I was just wondering if any body could help with this. So I have had this guy for well over a year now and when he was smaller he had the best color. Now as he has gotten bigger he just seams bland. His eyes seam cloudy also. My water is all good. I did get this cool shot though. My other guy does'nt seem much better ether. Sorry about the bad pictures I will do better next time. Any help is appreciated.

ditto.....its gotta be the diet. How often do you do wc's? Whats the temp at? How big is the tank? Whats the filtration?

~ My tank is 200 + gallon. I run 2 fx-5. I do a water change about one a week. temp at 85. I have run this same set up for years with no issues. The Orino is maybe 6 inches long and the Occel is 8 or 9 inches. I feed mostly shrimp or feeder gf. I could never get them to take pellets. Is this why?

they need vitamins feeder goldfish are like twinkees to cichla shrimp are much better but they need more variety id recommend adding freeze dried krill that will help with the color
and bring out the reds and substitute the goldfish with tilapia its a much more nutritious fish for predators to eat just cut it into small pieces and feed them also there is a great link in the stickies that will teach you how to get your fish completely non live trained it works if you make it work

"The Orino is maybe 6 inches long and the Occel is 8 or 9 inches."

And how old are they?

I'm saying it seems to be a lack of food. They look a lot healthier and more solid in your avatar. How many times a week are you feeding them?

~ Thanks guy's, I am thinking you are right about the food. maybe to many GF and not enough good food. I feed 2 or three times a week but I am thinking that is obviously not enough. . . Thanks for all the help. After I lost my Arowana, I stopped feeding then as much. . didn't think about that until now

Sorry about your arowana...

the bass should be fed once a day at least in small amounts or large amounts every few days. My two 15 inch bass eat 8 shrimp each every time I feed them.
