My orino has made a nest and she guards it like crazy and is super aggressive....all my dats are forced to one side of the tank. My question is will she drop the eggs even though i dont have a male? You can see the stomach is filled with them.

Not 100% sure but I believe they can still lay the eggs. They just wont get fertilized without the male. I've had cichlids that did this.
Hey WOW!!! FUN WOW!!! LOL!!! I am Curious if she wil drop ..You would think even if she is ready she would not produce eggs unlees a male was present inducing her ....
I guess ill have to wait and see. She is some where over 2years old...not really sure exactly. Its my Ven. orino and shes the only cichla in the tank cause shes so damn mean. I went to work one night and came home to this nest she made and ever since then shes been caring to it and i even catch her moving the gravel in the spot with her mouth sometimes. Right where the vent is it looks like a small tube sticking out. Ill let you guys know if she drops. It would be nice if that brazilan orino was a male boosten then all i would have to do is wait and get him bigger.
