I'm my humble opinion it is very difficult to determine if the fish is wild or not as some are bred/grown in ponds in their native country and are technically F1. You have to just trust the vendor you obtained them from. Even he could have been duped though, as he is just a middle man and his source may have lied to him. A few years ago some obvious signs was that if the Cichla was a mono/ocell hybrid. I also raised a group of F2 inbred bahia kelberi that all had a tail deformity except one specimen not sure if it was due to inbreeding or some other conditions. Which vendor did you get your orinos from? If it was someone on mfk I'm sure they are legit.
