Does anyone have a good link to someone who has chronicled the growth rate on there orino's.
The reason Iam asking is that I want to know how soon I can put them in with my silver aro's without being considered food.

My pbass are 1-1/2'' and my aro's are 6''-7'' (I think, they are arriving today thanks to snookn21)

They will be in a 100gal growout tank untill they are ready to go in my 560gal main tank.

I will post pics when they come in.

The only person that I know that actually post pictures of the growth rate of orino's is Hulon with his weekly updates. You might have to read the dates of his threads, but I am positive that you will find your answers in his threads.

Your silver will grow a lot quicker then your Orino's, that's for sure. 10'' is a safe size to add your orino's to your silver tank. (Being that your Arow will be about 15-18'' at the time your Orino's are at 10''). Keep your Arow well fed in the beginning part of the introduction of the Orino's.

I have had Arows (15-24'') in with Pbass (8''-17'') in the same tank. All the fish were all well fed and it worked for me. Tank size was 180gal and I had a lot of activity going on in the tank. Little nips here and there from the arow, but nothing to serious.

There are quite a bit of people in the Cichla forum that know their stuff about Cichla. Hulon knows his stuff and post regularly here.

Welcome to the Cichla Madness...Enjoy your stay.

I have my 22" Aro with cichla ranging from 7"-10". They're way too big for the aro to swallow and he never bother them. In the past I've had 5" cichla swimming with 2x 10" Aros and they were fine. Just use common sense and make sure the cichla is absolutely too big to fit in the arowanas mouth. Jardinis are a different story.

I just picked up four little Orino's myself, and there about 3 plus inches, and hoping to move them in with my Kelberi, Tems, and Mono X Orino, that are all about 5 plus inches in size..........Good luck and post some pix of your new pickups.
