Orinos and Red Oscars Compatibility

I've had 5 of Rapps Rio Meta Orinos for quite awhile now, pushing 7-8" and all got along fine. I recently added two pair of tiger oscars and two pair of Red Oscars, all around 3.5-4", everything seemed great, and last night I found one of my biggest orinos sides all messed up. I seperated it from the rest but ended up losing it this morning. WTF !!! I know orinos are one of the most aggressive out of pbass, but this just drove me crazy.
 
They've been kept together without a problem before. If anything, I'm surprised the Orinos didn't try to eat the Oscars at that size. It's possible that you had a weaker Orino and the others just targeted it. Sorry for your loss:(
 
thanks bro, yeah it doesnt make senes to me. The orinos stay together as a pack, and the oscars do the same. No problems at feedings either. Theirs also a 5-6" clown knife, but I seriouslt doubt he did anything either.
 
How big is the tank? The Orinos may have been fine in the tank by themselves, but when you added the Oscars it might have made them feel cramped. When they get cramped, they get mean. Kind of like a woman.
