bad mix? really want to get a couple eels but dont want my bicher to snack on them. will they be ok if they are relatively same length? i know eventualy mr ornate bicher gets 16" and grows fast, maybe faster than an eel. but i was hoping that if i kept an eye on them and they were similar size it would be cool. thoughts?

ornates reach 18-24 inches.the mix of eels and medium sized bichirs is iffy at best and will really depend on the agression level of the bichir.The eel really could look like a large tasty worm.If you try the mix be sure to have a place the eel can go the bichir can't-Anne
from what ive seen they dont really mind each other, the bicher has never eaten live food. The eel likes to burrow and stick his head up most of the time. From time to time he will wiggle his way around and play in the floating plants, but ive only had him for a day. want to get more eels especially a rubber eel if i can find one. if this one is ok ill give more a shot.

I have a fire eel with 7 bichirs and there is no problem so far they are all pretty large. feed well and make sure they are not mouth sized
