Or at least I think he did. I came home after being gone for 3 days and my pictus cats were gone and my ornate had a huge belly. Hes about 7 or 8 inches and the pictus were maybe 3. I dont know how he caught them cuz they were so fast, anyway should I be worried cuz Ive heard pictus had spines.

A little too late to worry now-Anne

I have two polypterus. One is a senegal and the other is an ornate. They have eaten many tankmates including cory cats, cichlids, and algae eaters. Never had any problems though, even with the spines on the cats. I've learned to make sure nothing is in their tank that will fit into their mouths. I would worry too much although pictus are quite a bit larger than the cory cats that mine ate.

well if they are in his belly that means the spines did not get in his way :)

yea it's a little too late to worry now.......i'd be more careful next time though cuz you never know when the spines could have gotten caught...........just remember they eat anything that fits in they're mouth...........

yea well hes still got a big belly and I was more worried about spines hurtin his insides. I wonder how he caught them...they are sooo fast.

you would be suprised, shiners are fast as heel and somehow my senegals can catxh em
