Hi all,

I have read that bichirs don't readily accept pellets and that you need to give them live or frozen food....however, they can be trained to take pellets. I am thinking about getting one but I would MUCH rather prefer to feed it pellets or wafers. Has anyone ever ran into problems trying to get an ornate bicher to eat sinking pellets or wafers?

no problems with it bro ,just feed him the pellets hes not going to eat them at first but eventually he will cuz hes going to be really hungry thats how i did it

bichirs are funny some times i have 1 albino sengulas 1 endi and 1 delhezi in the tank with a vatf all the fish in the tank eat feeders live worms and frozen worms and other frozen and freeze dried food even the vatf but the endi wont touch anything but feeders hes is now about 3 inches behind the rest of the bichirs in the tank hes my fav bichir but i think hes gonna be food soon he just cant keep up

i have never seen my ornate eat but i do see the out come like dead bodies ripped fins and savagely beaten feeders and not to mention swollen belly i but his staple is carnivore pellets
