Ornate Bichir Question!

Hi.

Can i put a 8" Ornate Bichir to my 16-17" Laps and Ornate Bichirs??
Would they kill the smaller one?

I have had a 4" Ornate in my 125 with 11" Ornate and 11" Lap, and several smaller polys for a few days. The small Ornate and the big Ornate hang out together a lot. No problems as of yet. I know it's risky, but I put a Rhom in the tank where the small Ornate was growing out.

Id watch out for it but i think it would probably be ok if you get the 8" fed up and chunky.

it should be perfectly fine. bichirs tend to be friendly to other bichirs. or rather, tolerant. I have a 5" polli with a 16" endlicheri. no problems for over 7 months now

you probably could but keep the laps good and full and watch them

If your gonna put them together, never ever starve the big guys. Always keep them full so that they wont eat the little dudes.

i think it should be fine. ive seen alot of setups with indos/bichirs small and large they're doing fine.
