Ornate Bichir

is this fish considered an eel or what would he be consididered? will these guys get big enough to hang with peacock bass i the future thanks

An ornate bichir is classed as a polypterus and there is a whole section dedicated to them on this site and yes they are fine with bass as long as they are big enough not to be eaten by the bass and the ornate will get to between 18" and 24" .

good shout steve, i have an 8 inch ornate with my 12 inch bass does just fine a lot more active i find at night IMO get some pics up when you can
