1) How many of you have ornate bichirs over the 20" mark?
2) How long did it take for them to get that size?

2) I brought mine at about 6" 2~3 monthes ago. Now its pushing 12"

My biggest is 17,7 inches (45cm) and i have had her for 3-4years. She was 11,8 inches (30cm) when i got her.

only got a 2 year old 13" ornate. they seem to slow down after the 12" mark.

Ornates grow slow....I have two that have got to be stunted. About 12" and pushing a good 2-3 years old.

Ornate growth rates will vary greatly. whether it is cb or wc will play huge role.

My largest somewhere between 21 1/2 and 22 inches is 6 years old. Growth was quick to the 16 inch mark and then slowed down. Once it hit the 18Inch mark allot of the growth was in the girth. (i believe this one is WC)

My second is 1 1/2 years old and now at 15" albeit very slendar.(this one is CB)
