Ornate bichirs tankmates

i dont really have experience with them...yet, but i am planning on keeping one with a pair of severums, i think they just dont do well with the more actively aggressive cichlids that would pick at it but i think other more mellow cichlids are ok, anyone else with actual experience have something to add? lol
As long as their tankmates aren't incredibly aggressive, don't have long fins, and can't fit into the mouth of the ornate in question you should be fine.
Small fish can become meals for polys in general.
Flowing fins seem to beg to be bitten IME.
Aggressive fish can hurt polys contrary to popular belief.
Although, most cichlids tend to ignore bottom dwelling fish which makes them all basically compatible tankmates. It comes down more to the individual personality of both fish whether or not it will actually work.
