someone told me that chaca chaca's let out toxic slim so ineed good filtration.
is this true?
are they like cowfish, so do they like let it out when they are pis*ed or/and when they die?
what kind of toxins do they let out? can i actually see something coming out, will the ammonia sensor rise, anyway i can tell if it lets the toxin out?
do both species of chaca cat's let this toxin out?

supposedly they do but i believe it only affects the ph in the tank and probably only if it is in a pretty small tank. its nothing that isnt easily managed. i have one and haven't had any problems

I had an old catfish book from the 70s with an article about these guys. Apparently with the author's fish, the feeder goldfish would eat at the slime on the catfish and die.
