Hey all you poly people,
The link is my original post, in the general section. Basically I'm wondering if my dream stock list is possible, or if there will be major aggression issues or even fish food...

I would like to get an ornate poly, as well as a teacup ray, fire eel, 5-10 clown loaches, and a silver aro....
The tank is a 150 that is 72 inches long and 18 wide...

Main worries are the poly eating the eel, or even picking on the loaches.... let me hear everyones input

Thanks in advance

Just the general mouth size rule for predators.
If it fits, it's food.
You'll have to buy the $50 large clown loaches.

I tried the $5 loaches and those were apparently yummy.

Well I have had a group of five for years now... most are around 5.5" so I'm hoping he won't garf them down.... the smallest ornate I can get from lfs will be about 4 inches though...

silver aro will outgrow that tank very fast. Teacup ray will eventually grow out of it as well

Agreed, both the stingray and aro will outgrow that tank. You need at least a 24" width to house either of those species. Even then its a tight fit.

Yeah my 220 gallon was much more suitable, just no space for it...
appreciate the input everyone... i guess i could rotate out aro's however i would be just losing money then....
as for the ray, what is their growing speed like????
I'm getting the eel tomorrow....he is around 10" from what the lfs has told me

Silver Aro and the Ray are definitly out of the question.
Keeping either or both of them in an 18" wide is just crazy.
The Aro will need a 8ft x 3ft wide tank as a minimum as an adult

Well i certainly don't have the space or money for a new tank especially one with that large of a footprint...

I guess i'll have to hold off on my aro for a few more years... And I'll have to break the news to the girlfriend that she can't get her sting ray... lol that will be fun. I told her it was very unlikely but she just kept laying it on and laying it on...

Eel came in today, going to pick him up around 5pm. Check him out and let him grow a little bit before i grab a poly..

At least your girlfriend is into the hobby with you. Mine hates it lol only cuz she thinks I spend more time around my tanks and my dog than her lol
