ornate grownig

My ornate is putting on some size in the last month managed to put the tape measure near it measured over 10 inches so gone from about 4.5 inches in january to over 10 inches in october.At the begining of september it was pushing 8 inches so in 5 week is ah groen 2 inches are my eyes playing on me

That does seem rather fast for a polypterid, but I don't think it'd be impossible for a well-fed ornate kept in good conditions to grow two inches in 5 weeks.

Polys go through growth spurts... longer, and then fatter.. So if you notice no length increase, then it more likely put on more girth in the coming months.

I think I miss measured the first time and it was more than 7 inches nearer 8+ inches . When I got it in january growth was very slow even with 2 weekly water changes and daily feeding but from july I noticed it growing my cb senegal is 9 inches and the ornate is now longer and wider. It may well slow down again.

Looking great! Is it in the same tank with the one-eyed lap?

No the 1 eyed lap was in a grow out tank I re homed the lap as I had to put the 3 teugs in the grow out tank if I kept the lap he would have had them for lunch as that was growing rapidly as well the person I gave to says it is now about 6 inches.
