Hello all

Is it ok, and by ok I mean notcruel, to keep an Ornate in a four foot tank? The tank I am getting is 48"x21"x18", so I think this makes it a 75 gallon.

With the Ornate getting so large, I wondered if it was fair? They are stunning looking, but to me the fishes welfare should come first.

Well...for a rule...I'VE HEARD...as long as the length of the tank is twice the length of the adult size and the width is the length of the adult size, it should be fine. But I've seen that before and I think it looks a bit cramp for them. I'd go with 3x the length and I'm ok with the width being the same size.

he'd definitly fit. :)
but it will look a lil cramped.

would ya be able to keep anything else???

ehhhhh thats a little small a 120 4x2x2 would be better but you could get away with it for a while but i'd say get a bigger tank ornates get around 18-20'' you could have a few other tank mates in there if the filtration is good

theres also smaller polys non that have the pattern of ornates but some cool ones delhezi, palmas species and a few others
