Ornate in Tanganyika Setup?

Has anyone here kept a P. ornatipinnis in a Lake Tanganyika biotope tank? I'm curious because fishbase indicates that it comes from Lake Tanganyika (among other places) and am considering doing a Tanganyikan display that would feature these fishes. At the very least has anyone kept them in high hardness/high pH water?

Of course, now that I'm looking at the record of occurrences it seems Dr. Axelrod is the one who said it comes from the lake. So who knows whether it's true or not...

Yes thats where its from but unless wild caught or bought from some1 who kept in that high ph would I do that. Most I see are kept in neutral ph.

i would be worried abotu what you would keep them with that is Tang set up?

a lot of tangs remain small, fronts grow really really slow and the ornate may outgrow and meal

whats the normal pH and hardness from your source water-Anne

We have a large 14" Ornate in our 450 gallon Front display tank at work. Our tap water runs about 8 ph so even keeping them in a non buffered tank around here has them close to rift lake ph.
