Ornate ok with Senagal ?

Title says it all, my lfs has a beauty of an ornate around 4". I already have 2 senegals around 3-4" each. I've read somewhere that ornates are aggressive towards their "own". Will they be ok together???

Mine seem to be doing fine. I had one little incident the first night with my senegal losing a bite of tail and the ornate lost a dorsal finlet, not a prob at all since.

Also... Is 60 bucks high for an ornate of this size??? I've seen them online for 39, but with shipping..... ends up over what my lfs is selling them for??

a $60 is a bit too much for an ornate. i have seen 17" ornates for $30 in this site.

I paid $47 for my 5-6 inch ornate. It all comes down to what you want, whats available, and what you're willing to pay.

I saw some babies about 4-5 inches going for $60 last weekend. I got mine for $40 @ 13-14 inches, but that's because my friend at the store hooked me up, they had her marked @ $90.

It depends on availability in your area. If the LFS never get in bichirs, and it's a nice specimen, then 60 is not too much. If you're in the states it wouldn't hurt to check with toyin, his rep and prices are good.

In parts of Canada $60 would be cheap for that fish, but since international shipping makes bringing across single specimens a bit out of my range I usually try to barter the store down instead
