Ornate Q's

How big do ornates get? I am buying a 75 gallon, is that large enough? Or do I need to stick with smaller species?

75 should be enough. They grow around an average of 16". But some reports say that they grow around 24". How many ornates are you getting?

A 75 would be good for a while but eventually i would recomend a bigger tank they aill get around 18'' in captivity some have gottin bigger in the wild they are said to get 24'' regularly

My ornate's around 20-22 inches. I have her in a 120 but want to get her a bigger tank.

I think I will not be getting an ornate then. Probably I'll get a del, sen and palmas if I can find them all, or I might buy them all from rehoboth aquatics.

They should be fine with ctenopomas, correct?

I got my ctenopomas in a 75 gal with Polypterus sen. and no problems.

What about smaller ctens like microctenopoma ansorgii? Any risk of them getting eaten by large bichirs?

My ornate is 15" and looks cramped in my 80g. Lucky my 160g is nearly cycled!
