give him time and even after that he may or may not eat regularly, i have 2 ones about 13" and it eats very sporadically, and ones about 9" and chows constantly :nilly:

I agree that a week is still too soon to start worrying. I feed my endlis raw shrimp and tilapia pieces and they just snarf it down. You might wnant to try that after a few more days. If your ornate looks and acts healthy otherwise, I wouldn't worry.

no worries man,my ornate which iv been keeping for 2.5 yrs i see it eat few times but now recently iv been seeing it eat more but its very fat and your bichir just stress, still new

I would agree with Hao, unless the fish is emaciated or looking sick I would not worry. I have only seen my 5 year old Ornate eat once, yet he grows. I think you are on the right track with offerring food at night. I feed beef heart after dark and it is always gone in the morning.

Good Luck

he doesnt swim around much he kinda hangs out at the top by the power head looks healthy tho

Try offering a dark cave, that is covered on all sides including the top with just an entrance, mine used to float constantly now he hangs in a rock cave, much more natural and less stressful IMO

yea then i never see him lol
