after stressing to much my 7" ornate finally begin to eat,
I put the ornate into a separate tank; then I gave it feeder and small frogs to begin with, and moments later the ornate finish them all, whoopss,
so I guess the ornate enjoying as much privacy eating on its own now rather than being together with other bichirs; so anyway I want the ornate to grow way bigger than it is now
cheers

That's a good step as long as you don't mind spending on feeders. If you are persistent, they always give up and start taking pellets and market shrimp, some take longer than others.

thanks for the thought, the ornate itself seems to be more active on its own compare to when put it together with other bichirs, I though it was the ornate characteristic,
anyway one of its fins had been beaten before, and its been 1 month since I got it from the lfs, I was worried it the fin doesnt heal back, is there anything else I should put in the water other than salt?oow by the way, hows your bichirs Cohazard?do you put them all in the same tank?whats the biggest bichir you have?
cheers

Are you going to try to get it on prepared food? It'll probably be cheaper in the long run if you can get it on pellets and frozen.

hmmm I try to give it pellets but the ornate wont eat it, we do have frozen bloodworms being sold in lfs, and thats what I've been feeding to my other bichirs, I also gave them floating pellets and they like it; but the ornate is a different story, it prefers live food, so I keep it seperate for now

my ornate won't eat pellets either. just try different things till he finds something he likes. mine only would eat sinking krill pellets at first. he feel in love with raw shrimp, now thats about all he eats. well besides the occasional fish that i buy that i think is big enough.

my ornate is eating pellets and anything else he cna find on the bottom (4")
