Ornate

hey guys, im wondering if its okay to move my 5 1/2 ornate to my 55 gallon tank. (until he reaches 12 inches (imma move him to a 150)

but the thing is, in my 55 i have an 8 inch weeksii and an 11 inch senegal and i dont want my ornate to be eaten. (again for these bichirs, its only temporary before i move them to a 150 gallon.
 
Should be fine as long as they are well fed. I would keep a close eye on it though.
 
Normally I'd say it's fine, will most likely be with the Senegal, and probably the weeksii will be fine too because it is only 2-3 inches larger, but a week or two ago a guy posted a pic of his weeksii (14") who swallowed most of another poly (10") and both died, so just be careful, but im currently tempting a 10 inch delhizi with a 3 incher, which sounds crazy, but it is working fine and my big girl del doesn't see anything but pellets as food.

alright thanks guys! the weeksii is actually something i bought from another MFKer and he told me the weeksii only eats pellets and market shrimp :)
 
Personally I think it'll be fine, ornates are known for not putting up with ****, as long as they're well fed and have plenty of room and hiding spaces I think it'll be just fine.
 
I placed my ornate inside with the other ones... apparent my senegal is afraid of my ornate... hahahah probably because of the vibrant colors of my ornate. thanks for all the help guys!
 
Just make sure you feed them well. A hungry bichir will eat anything that can fit into its mouth. Just bare that in mind.
