ornates sexing help needed (pic's)

Hi I got these as babies last summer and they are less than a year old and grown very fast and was wondering the sex of them... one grew much bigger and is lighter and fatter and the other is darker and slimmer and smaller.
any info will be great!
First up darker ornate
and last lighter bigger one.

From what I can tell, and I am not an expert, the small dark one is male and the large light one is female. They also could possibly be both females. Sorry I could not be more help.

that's strange as the bigger ones fin on the bottom seems much longer and hooks way tawards the back fin where the darker smaller one seems shorter ?

I just wonder why one grown so much bigger than the other when they where both like 2 1/2 in when i got them last summer?

Umm... I think it may be too soon to tell, don't ornates take about three years to mature sexually?
