I just got a 3" ornatum and wonder is the Atromaculatus are related? Just wondering because they are shaped the same... Are there aggression about the same? Do they reach the same size as adults? How big should you expect the Ornatum to get?

The Ornatum and Atromaculatum are supposed to both be close relatives of Festaae. I'm not sure how big either one max out, but I think Jeff Rapps had a 16" wild caught male Ornatum, didn't he? They probably max out a little smaller in an aquarium than in the wild.
I noticed that you had Ornatum, Festae, and Atromaculatum, in the same tank, having closely related cichlids in the same tank, is probably not a good idea, is that right? Did you notice the aggression between the Ornatum and Atromaculatum being about the same or was one more aggressive then the other?
I think Baltons male Festa just killed his Atromaculatum, I am surprised he has gotten away with the set up he has, Very nice fish though and great pics he shares
