Are oscars ok to stay with jaguar cichlids?

From what I have seen, the Jag ans Os may fight it out pretty bad... Jags are more dangerous to the Oscar I think. At first as small fry they may tolerate eachother but when they get bigger get ready to rumble.

I have 2 O's with a Jag, they are all about the 8 inch mark, the Jag has set up his territory at one end of the tank and the O's roam the rest but when they go into his part of the tank it's all gill flaring with the occasional lip lock. The Jag will have his own tank soon though.

I'd say providing there is enough space for the Jag to set out a territory leaving enough space for the O to swim you should be ok for a while depending on their sizes.

I currently have both, and they couldnt care less about each other. Never had them fight.

I have a female jag with what I believe is a pair of O's (not real sure though) I got the jag when she was just about 2" and the O's were 6-7", now the jag is 7 1/2" and the O's are 11" and it almost seems like they're a trio now. Every fish will be different though. I would say get the jag smaller than the O's and that would be your best bet!

I keep a 6-7" Jag and 10-11" O in the same tank, they don't seem to mind each other to much. It's an 8' tank though, I think that helps. I wouldn't try it with smaller tanks without having a backup tank in case they didn't get along.

Well my tank is 7' would this be ok it 2' high and 18 inches back
