some where over the rainbow
my oscar is acting very funny... about a week ago i did a water change and had to use tap water, next morning i walked by the tank and he FLIPED out... went from one end of the tank smacked into the other then back to the otherside, an so on, the only thing that stoped him was the heater. about 2-3 days ago he started to act normal again, exept for when he trys to get something to eat. he goes up to the top of the watter then starts biting at something, gose back under water fliping in circles. sounds like to me his swimblader is screwed up. any idears on what it could be?

My Oscar used to freak out when I would do a water change. They are so clumsy at times. Be careful if you have a glass heater because they are known for freaking out and breaking them and shocking themselves to death.

yeah i have heard that... but no one at my lfs has ever heard of an oscar doing that. kid that i usaly go through at the LFS told me he would come back, made some inprovement but then started doing what i explained befor

If you have the lights out, they can see you well. If you walk past the tank you can scare them, it happens to me all the time.
