Hey There!
So I just put my Albino Oscar (7") and Sailfin Plecostomus (9") into there new 80 gal tank. All was well, my oscar has been munchin up the feeder guppys I had in there to start the cycle in tank and after about 24 hours I realize the Oscar is beating up the Plec constantly. They were both in a 40 gal tank before and were more than happy together. The only difference is the new tank is bare bottom and doesnt have much of any cover. Besides a big clay pot. Anyone have any thoughts about how to resolve this issue?

it sounds like the o is trying to claim the new territory for himself. add DW and other places for the pleco to hide as the other member suggested.

It could also be a change in water conditions. because i notice how chill my oscar is before water changes but after any conditions in the tank change chemical wise he gets really aggressive for afew hours and then calms back down. so It may just take some time. Also I'd supply more cover for the pleco, and perhaps a piece of driftwood (plecos love driftwood)

Thank you all for your responses! I put some stuff in there like a couple big fake rocks to make some cover that I had from my old tank. I eventually want to get a sweet big chunk of driftwood for in there. But Im a poor man about to get married. The stuff to hide under appears to have hedged the aggression. The oscar is still rampaging around, but not buggin the plec NEARLY as much. Thanks again!!!

If the set up has changed (Sand, logs ect...) than they need time to settle, when I move my tank around my Oscars go nuts at me for doing it, it will eventually sort it self out. :)
