I have kept my bichir with a green terror for about a month, but I just got a tiger oscar ( my favourite fish:D) and had to give my green terror away because of aggression problems:(. Are oscars bad tankmates for sens?

No not if the senegal is big enough they can work just fine but a bigger bichir would be better an oscar might out grow a senegal so get the senegal as big as you can and the oscar as small as you can even then the oscar may out grow it and try to eat it so make sure theres not a big size difference

there both about 5 inches lol exactly the same size almost , I hope the bichir will only be about a month behind in it's growth rate

that size makes it iffy it could work try putting food in at night to make sure the bichir gets its share and grows fast hope it works out if the oscar gets a good amount of size on it then watch them close

Well... I'll let you know that I have a 10" Lapradei with a 10" and 8" Oscar which they don't bother at all. My 7" pacu gets chased though by the oscars.

I also have a 6" and 5" senegal with a 5", 3" oscar, 4" gt, 3" fh, 3" rd. They for the most part are left alone. I did however see my 6" senegal and my rd going at it one time after a feeding. The RD was looking at the nostrils of the senegal and took a bite at him. Both locked lips for about 1 minute and started chasing each other around the tank for another 2 minutes. Never saw any further aggression between them.

So in the end they should be fine as long as there is a difference in size/girth.

my senes likes to sleep at night and I find is more active during the day for some reason, I have to trick my oscar to feed him I put a floating pellet on one side and when he swims over I throw all the sinking foods in as fast as I can. My sens nips my oscar if he trys to steal his food and he took a big chunck out of one of his fins, when I came home later that evening the hole was gone:eek: do fins really heal that quickly??

they can but thats good

mabye find some foods that the oscar doesn't like if thats possible

i have my 2 5-6'' sens in with my 12'' tiger, but he's a wuss anyway...

polys seem more inclined to hand feed (probably cause they rely more on scent than sight) so you might want to try that, just watcgh your fingers... lol

I just went out and bought some beef heart my oscar keeps trying to eat it and I had to chase him away with my hand lol my sens found it and loves it but I have to place it right infront of his face
