oscar and crawdad

I have an 8 inch oscar and a large female crawdad. She just shed her exoskeleton and Frank(oscar) looks like he is interested in eating her. Do you think he will?

probably. put in a hiding hold for her like a pot (if you havent already) she will stay in there while she is soft. leave the old exoskeleton with her, she will eat it.

Dude,my 3 inch convict male mauled mine when it molted,an 8 inch Oscar will OWN that cray.And then eat it!!

I have no doubt that eventually that oscar will eat the crayfish, its one of their main food sources in the wild. I'm suprised it hasen't eaten it yet.

Yep, a large oscar like that will attempt to eat many things that are smaller than itself. I would put her in a diff tank until her shell hardens or provide many hiding places.
