oscar and dovii??

will an oscar be able to survive with a dovii? or will somebody end up hurt?

My guess is that the oscar will get slammed. Never kept a dovii, but did have a jag do a number on one of my oscars.

could go either way. dovii certainly has the tools to dismember any fish. I have 2 oscars and 3 dovii. One male dovii is around 10 in the other male dovii is around 6 in and my female like 3. My big tiger oscar is the boss in the tank. the male tries to fight but my oscar has alot more body on him. dont sleep on the oscars some can be tough. my same oscar beats up on my jag all the time. just depends on the fish itself. but usually dovii's have the upper hand. i would put them together but keep watch on them. you need a big tank.

I haven't kept a dovii (but would like to) but from what I have read unless you got a huge huge tank (and then you are still taking chances) the oscar will still probably be dust. Its like putting a dog with a lion.

As juvies in your 125, they would be cool. That wouldn't last long though.

There are times where the Oscar will be the aggressor but the Dovii will quickly find a way to overcome that.

I agree with others some oscars are tough but most just act tough put them in with a dovii would'nt last long when there adults.

I'm not sure it all depends on the fish itself but what i hear dovii's can be very nasty guys.

dovii might kill the oscar.
dovii get pretty territorial once they begin to mature.

Most people have said it already the Oscar is king for now but you have to be vigilant, it depends alot on the fish, their size and age. Tank size and hiding places are imporatant but in the end and Oscar will always loose i.e. Die and it's not worth losing a nice fish because of an error in judgement.
Here's my Dovii who lives alone and he's no glass banger but just stresses out or tries to kill all other tank mates only becuase he can.
