Hey Guys, new to the site and wanted to run this by you. I have a 180 gallon tank 6ft. with 1 Oscar, 1 Severum, 1 Chocolate (coryphaenoides), 1 Blue Acara (so I thought), and 5 Silver Dollars. My Oscar is the biggest of the tank at around 7inches. My question is, I think my Blue Acara is a Green Terror (bought him young) and after some growth he looks like a GT, he is only about 3.5inches or so. There has been no aggresion since the tank has been set about (about 6 months), Im just worried that the GT will not fit into this stock list. My Oscar is my priority in the tank and if you guys think the GT will be a problem in the future I will take him out. The GT is one of my favorite fish in the tank and would like to keep him in there. Do you guys think this will be a problem? Thanks

Welcome to MFK.

It should work for a long time if not permanantly. The Oscar will be huge by the time the GT starts to even get to be a decent size. The GT might give the sev and choc some problems but I'd wait until it starts becoming a major problem before selling off fish.

I agree with Balton. GT's are slow growers. It will be a while before he poses a threat, if at all.

As long as there is hiding spots it should be fine.

Hi Stevenm1, your Oscar is the same size as mine and if it is anything like mine its growth should continue rapidly and hopefully by that point if you do have a GT it might just ignore your monster Oscar.

180g tank is a nice size tank to establish territories amongst your fish...now if you had these fish in a 55/75/90/110 tank then you would inevitably (more than likely) run into problems whether it be fighting and/or stress related issues.... of course there are cases were these fishes can live well together in a smaller tank....but why take the risk?....

I second younglin...have enough hiding places....
