I have a 13'' oscar and a 6'' lep. Do you think they would be ok together. I'm worried that the O might try and eat the lep.

depend's alot on your oscar......for example my 12+inch oscar has a 3inch polleni and a 3inch chocolate cichlid in with him with no problem's at all...theres also two 7-8inch oscars in there

Do you think an oscar can swallow a fish of that size? I have seen oscars try and eat fish way too big for them, which is never good. I'm not sure if my oscar will give it a go.

Only one way to find out. I think it really depends on the O, some of them won't bother a fish they can't easily swallow, others will chase/bite anything that lets them.

Leps can be real SOB's though, when it gets bigger it might beat the crap out of your O.

I would say go for it, bag the lep then float bag for around an hour, watching oscar to see what he doe's.....Feed the oscar about 15mins before releasing it,,,,should be fine

I think it should be fine.

Well I did last night, and so far so good. I set up a hiding spot on the other end of the tank that was away from the O's territory. The O chased the lep alittle bit, but that was it. The funny thing is that the lep has joined the silver dollar school lol.
Thanks for the input everyone!
