Hey gang! I have a 120g with severums in it right now. I'd like opinions about having one oscar and two severums in the tank. Filtration is a fluval Fx5.
The severums are only 1.5 inches right now and I haven't gotten the oscar. The LFS is due to have some in this week on Thursday and they should be smallish, maybe 2-3 inches? The severums have only been in for a week.
personally i wouldnt risk the smaller severums with an oscar.... but thats just me (and my bias against oscars but i LOVE severums!!). i guess if they had plenty of decor and time to establish territory then it might work
Severums should be able to handle an Oscar, depends on the temperament of each fish though. 120G is adequate for that stocking though, I say go for it.
I have two oscars and one turquoise severum. they get along just fine. The o's do not pick on the Severum and only chase him off if he gets too close (I believe the O's are a pair). They are all juvies and the o's are probably 4 inches and the severum probably 3. They are currently in my 56 gal and they are going to be moving into a 100 gal with a 50 gal sump as soon as it is cycled (The O's that is and maybe the Severum). In my experience they seem to make a pretty good combination so far.
