ok so my two oscars have been digging and not eating for 2-3 days and then all of the sudden their was eggs! the two strange things are that the oscars are around a year old maybe even less and they did not lay them on a rock they dig a nest in the sand and layed them on the bare bottom of the tank the only other fish in the tank is a common plec and and a spoted pictus I divided the tank so know they have 3ft to them selves and the plec and cat have 3ft just wanted to share because I thought it was strange

Well I've heard of stranger things. Congrats
Are the 2 Oscar tending to the eggs?

Nothing really unusual about that. The fish know when they are old enough, and it makes no difference to them if they clean a pit with a rock in the bottom or if that rock is the bottom of the tank. Congrats.

they might be a year old like you said. it does take them about a year to become old enough breed. Do you know the sex Of your 2 oscars?
