I just got a beatiful new 8 inch ruby red albino oscar. I put it in my 100g and my 7 inch oscar keeps chasning it around and forcing it to hide. The new o isnt showing any signs of aggression just running away. my 7" won't leave it alone, any advice on how to stop him? i already tried removin my old o and redocorating the tank, then putting him back but it didnt help. theyv been in the tank for about 4 hours.

I've found that when introducing new fish into my tank, the other fish will pick on it for a day or two. Usually the aggression just goes away, but with oscars, you never know.

Tough to say if it will work out. Fish have personality, and yours might be a douche bag. LOL

Give a few days but be prepared to give an Oscar it's owe home or a new one.

Oscars are A-holes, very territorial. It's not likely to get any better. Not a bad idea to get prepared to get rid of one, or move one to another tank. This is only one of many reasons I don't keep oscars anymore. All the fighting, digging, and other BS gets old after awhile. Good luck!

ive never seen mine this aggressive, i think ill get rid of the tiger oscar and get another, hopefull it wont be as aggressive.

I wouldn't get rid of it just yet. After having my O's seperated for about 9 months I bought a big enough tank for both of them plus some. I added them together to the tank and they fought for a couple of days but have mellowed out alot. They are best of buds right now.
I would wait a few more days to see if it gets any better before just getting rid of it.

try this. worked on my very aggressive female convict...
take out the 1st oscar and make some reaarangements on the tank decors...
leave the new 1 there for a few days before ntroducing the old one back.
i think hes just telling the new one "this is my turf" good luck! ;)

agression to a new tankmate is more then normal... especially comin from an oscar. as said before, give it a few days. if you dont notice it calm down, give it another few days but dont let it get to crazy that you can't even stand to watch it. they should or could possibly mellow out after a week. mine fought for like 3 weeks n i guess they got tired of it. now there buddies

glad to hear it can get better, the albinos still hiding but the tigers leaving him alone slighltly more. the albinos starting to show a little aggression, they lock jaws every once in a while. i just hope the albino doesnt become aggressive, i dont want two fish beatin up newcomers.
