ok,i have a question for experienced/veteran oscar breeders..
next to venting,what do you find the next most accurate sexing method of oscars?what have you observed to their physical appearance that may differentiate a male from female?
and i'm talking the size when oscars STARTS to breed,so no "males have nuchal hump" please. :D
i have female oscar and i want to buy him a male.since i can't vent them on stores,what should i look for to know that it maybe a male oscar?
 
hard to tell without the breeding tubes out, Venting in that case would be the best way. But if there are several adult Oscars in the tank you may be lucky enough to see breeding tubes out. Males will look like a V, females a U.

outside of that, everythign is going to be a guessing game. make sure they have a good return policy.
 
thank you guys...but what about oscars at only around 8 or 7 inches long?
what are the other methods use to sex them?even if it's not accurate.just curious.hehe!
