oscar color/sex question

Will my Oscar always be this light or will he/she become darker and can anyone tell the sex of the fish?

That would be a proper guess !! Mine have changes colour slightly

He or she might darken up if you chose a darker substrate; I think the only way to truly sex them is by venting.

Its a red, its colour is pretty average. Feed it high quality pellets like Hikari Gold or Bio Gold and New Life Spectrum... Also krill is good. With sex the only way to tell with oscars is to vent them.

Thanks guys i was just thinking that the red oscars i usually see were darker.
