my juv. had amazing markings with white and orange lines and orange cirlces. now that it has reached a fat 6 inches he is mostly black very little orange.

question is? are the colors ever going to pop.
 
I had the same question, my answer was if an oscar looses its color then it's not a healthy oscar.
Not suggesting your oscar is unhealthy. I had the question because my oscars colors are starting to dull.
 
An Oscars colors will commonly change greatly over the course of it's life...

Sharing pictures or giving a very thorough description may help members suggest if it sounds like a common change...

Going from "white and orange lines and orange cirlces" (sounds like a Lutino Tiger Oscar) to "mostly black very little orange" (description too vague to identify) does not sound normal...
 
here is what he looked like young now he is basically black. and he eats everything all day. eats 5 gum drops aday easy and hikari pellets.. ill try to get a pic
