hey gys i just recently got my O into a fully decorated tank. lately he has been annihalating the plants, i know this is usual with O's.
but he is constantly diggin around carrying rocks and s[itting them on the plants. what is he doing?

it's the typical cichlid business, it's my territory, I do want things and my surroundings as I want it to be. Don't worry, it's natural. They won't eat the substrate, occasionally they do if they can't tell what's a pellet from a pebble.

He's doing what most every large cichlid does. My jag will bury stuff like medium sized rocks, dig them back up and bury something else. He's just being normal

Got 2 of Oscars so I feel the same way you do. I also make em jump of the water whenever it's feeding time, giving of mealworms, earthworms, and mealworm bugs, but it's not a good way to practice em to do that as they may jump of the tank, so as I'm doin it, my lid has a hole appropriate for the feeding but smaller than those O's. Happy Fish Keeping! They're one of the most personable Fish you'll ever had.

It's the Oscars home not yours! He doesn't like the way you decorated it.;)
