Swimming in a mountain river
So, I have an adult tiger oscar(10in), and an adolecent tiger oscar(5-6in). They like eachother, swim around together and all seems well. At first there was some tail vibrating and posturing, but no attacking or serious bullying. Anyways, I was wondering if there was gonna be problems, would've it happened already, or might it happen when the little one gets bigger. The adult is pretty laid back, and the little one chases the goldfish when they get in her "bubble", but just goldfish. She's a goldfish bully, but likes the other tankmates. So any experinces? Please no "well I heard oscars...". I would like people w/ personal experince, w/ oscar w/ oscar. Ur advice wouldn't help if ur oscar hated ur catfish. Not trying to be rude, it just won't help much. Thanks:D

Nobody is going to be able to tell you what will happen, oscars sort of are unpredictable. It wouldn't surprise me if the little one beat up the big one. Wait and see, watch for problems, and be ready to separate. Sorry I couldn't help more, but seriously every oscar is different. Thats what I like about them.

X2

I have 3 that swim together, leave plecos alone, and are generally peaceful but sometimes will nip at each other without harming each other. They are small though, and not mature, and this most likely will change.

Your smaller o is not mature either, so it may change as well.

A lot of it depends on the size or your tank too. If they're crowded into a 75 gallon or smaller there probably isn't enough territory unless they become a bonded pair or you got lucky with too very docile fish. 100 gallon or 125 ideally and even if they don't get along they will each have enough territory to stake out and stay out of each other's way.

I agree. The bigger the tank, the better. If they are in too small of a tank, chances are you'll run into problems down the raod.

My Oscars are best pals 90% of the time but sometimes they will have a few days where they beat the hell out of each other and I have to get the divider out for a couple of days then everything returns to normal. Mine are in a 6ft tank.
