This lil guy was given to me two days ago.. was put through alot of stress and i'm kind of worried about him.

When i first got him he was bleached out and got his coloration back. now he's bleaching out again and not eating or being very active. Water is good, temp is right. any other suggestions?

that is an odd colouration,,,,is the tank fully matured?
oscars are renowned for sulking for ages after being moved or waterchanges,,Is it eating ok?what temp is the tank?does it have any tank mates?

Its a mature tank... houses two african cichlids until i can find a home for them. He was just moved to this tank on account his old tank busted a seal and the original onwers didn't have a replacement tank.

The temp is 75F, and I did a 15% water change the day he arrived. I've also checked the ph, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite lvl's they are all good.

Good news.. He's finally eating and being very playful. BUT :OMG: he's a messy eater.

I've heard everyone say what messy eaters Oscars are... but not until i actually witnessed half of his food fall out his gills did i understand why. :jaw-dropp

LOL, its a funny thing too see.. Good Luck with him.

If it changes a lot very suddenly I would say its stress or the water
