Hey, I have a pair of oscars. I have gotten fry from them before. We recently put some fish in with them so they would not breed for a while. We just took these fish out about 2 months ago. They have layed eggs about 4 times since then, and none of these times were successful. The eggs always seem to turn too white. Or they don't even stick to the slate that they are begin layed on. Sometimes within only a day, all of the eggs have completely blown off of the slate. They aren't eating the eggs either...

What can I do to make the eggs catch? Advise please

If you want the eggs to survive, remove the slate with the eggs on it to a growout tank, dosed with the proper dose of methaline blue and temp. good water circulation and hope for the best.

Thanks:)
I'm looking for ways to keep the parents with the eggs too. Or I just want some answers to what is going on here

Bump you could make sure that the water circulation isn't aimed right at the eggs you could put a fake plant where you think the current is coming from

since the eggs turn white its because the eggs are not fertilized, so that won't work !

White eggs mean that they're unfertilized, males are supposed to externally fertilize the eggs after they are released by the female.
Are you sure the eggs are actually being blown off the slate and not being eaten by the fish?

Are the eggs always white? Or do they turn white after being brown first? It is possible they are fertilized but then get fungus which turns them white.
Maybe putting some sand or gravel on the slate before they breed might help, the thinking is that they will have to clean the gravel or sand off and in the process may clean the slate better to provide better sticking?
