Hello guys! I am new here and I would like to ask why my Baby Oscar changes from Black to like a faded green or olive green. I have bought it in Black. I am nervous as what happens to him. Thanks in advance

Welcome to MFK
Cichlids in particular do this when they are stressed, mood change or if they are ill. How long has your aquarium been setup ?
What are your water parameters?

Also you just got the little Oscar so give time to adjust to it's new environment.

Also adult oscars turn a somewhat different color as they age, the dark juvie coloration and mottling is quite temporary.
They will stay darker if the back and 2 small sides of the tanker blackened, but if the 3 sides of the tank are left transparent near a beige or white wall, or with a predominantly white substrate, they will probably lighten dramatically.
In nature, in a bright, light brown habitat they tend to match the color of their surroundings

Thank you very much for the information! I'm sorry if this reply was late, my baby oscar is still a bit of olive green, I have purchased a 180 gallon tank (the largest one available) and a filter, the water temperature is at 77F and its clean. Thank you for the reply. I really appreciated it and very helpful, I thought its something I should worry about

How long was the tank up and running before adding your Oscar?

As mentioned, Oscars change with mood, age, diet.
