220 isn't big enough. I really hate to be the bearer of bad news, especially this late at night, but you'll need about five hundred gallons for your Pacu. I have some photos in my gallery of mine... they're all still small, at less than 2 feet, but they need room to move. They may be big, but they're still Characins, and that instinct for "flight" sends them swimming. Plan larger.

5000 gallon is correct if she was a black pacu as they grow to be 3 feet big but red belly pacus dont hit close to that size i had my pacu for a little over 2 years and i believe the largest me hearing about red bellies is 14nches ..black pacus grow to be 2 feet long n about 7 months rapid rapid rapid groth .

I said 500, not 5000. And I have 3 Red Bellies. One is 20 inches, one is 18 inches, one is 14 inches. You have been very, very misinformed. Your fish will grow to at least 2 feet, and likely more.

Edit: I'd like to add that the 20 inch one I just adopted through the help of an MFK'er. This fish lived in a 55 gallon its entire life. They obviously do not stunt.

wow learn something every day thanks for the heads up and this also gives me reason to build a bigger tank i ratther put them together then buy then cheaper and very custom i built my 150 gallon for her she is not cramped in there and still plenty of room to swim as she is still under 12 inches but i will be building bigger as i love my pacu its a shame to hear about the 55 gallon tank story
