If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?

My oscar has been having s dmsll lesion on its lower lip since more than one month. I thought it was just a bruise especially he's very active and fast swimmer and often bumps himself onto driftwood.

However this is growing and lately after being a very voracious eater jumping out of the water to catch a dried shrimp, it's barely eating, and instead of swallowing whole its pellets it's spitting big chunks
Didn't do recent water test, but the tank is well established since six month with weekly water changes, I have very powerful filtration with overhead filter and powerhead filter, I did yesterday 80% water change and added safe but nothing changed.

Could be a papilloma, viral (less likely from the look of it but can’t be sure) or from chronic friction. Just IMObvWould make sure to test your water and keep nitrates down to less than 20ppm. Tank is cycled. Add garlic soak to the pellets and watch the poop.

Oscars do get 'chinples' from digging and rubbing against objects. Although usually its in the middle. They can get red and inflamed. Chinples are scar tissue that usually will break/fall off after awhile. My oscar gets them occasionally when he digs a lot. Two years ago he had an ugly red one that stuck out like a horn like 1/2 an inch. I kept the water super clean and added salt and it cracked off in pieces gradually.

Keep an eye on your water quality+++ I think I see early signs of hith in the first pic.
