Oscar fish questions

Okay well, I've had Mulder the albino tiger oscar for almost 4 months now. I got him when he was about 5 inches ands he's pushing 8 right now. He eats earthworms, crickets, hikari gold cichlid pellets, frozen peas, beefheart, and his fav, freeze dried shrimp. He lives in a 55 gallon tank by himself.

Question 1: all of the sudden, he's gotten really aggressive and territorial attacking everything from the heater to the ornaments in the tank. Why has this happened all of the sudden? He just started this past week or so.

Question 2: Is there anything else I need to be feeding him so that he is healthy?

Question 3: Is he growing at a healthy rate? How long will it be till he hits maximum size? (12-14 inches)

sorry for all the questions but this is basically like his little checkup at the "doctor" to make sure he's healthy.

Tank is getting to small for him.

The food your feeding it is good, but add some veggie pellets too.

That's a good growth rate for a oscar,

Question 1: Your oscar is finally showing his personality. It is not because he is in a small tank....that is not to say you shouldn't upgrade to a 18" wide tank in the next few months. I'd recommend a 125 to house him for life.

Question 2: Your oscars diet is exceptional. Add some veggies in if you wish.

Question 3: His growth is a bit under the standard of 1" a month, but you have no need to worry.
