I have a 110 gallon 6' x 1.5' x 1.5' i had 6 oscars in there and then one got beat up and he died ok. them 2 months later another one dies. before they both died thay seemed not to eat for the day before. so not i am down to 4 oscars.

the oscars that are left are 1.5 inch to 2 inch they were all the same
size.:nilly:

i just dont understand why they are dying.

if you have an oscar that is only 2" after 2 months, you are doing something very wrong. Water quality would be my first question. How often are you doing water changes? What are you running for a filter? How much are you feeding?

My baby O grew from 2" to 5" in the first couple of months I had him, just for a frame of reference.

i have a xp3 and a fuvel 404
40% water change every 2 weeks

hmm let us know what the water parameters are (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph level) and we should be able to help you a little better.
eventually, 6 oscars in a 110 gallon is very cramped and once they reach full size it would be severely overstocked-then youll be fighting bad water parameters.

let us know your parameters, and any signs or symptoms you saw when they died.

you should do weekly water changes really, i do 60% weekly keeps the fish happy and healthy.

i did cycle the tank
and i do not know the levels of the tank

Although the fish are small now they do grow and I believe that 6 oscars in 110 is crazy. Well that’s just me…

A test kit is a great bit of equipment to have. It lets you know what’s going on in the tank. Ammonia reading are important because to much can kill fish very quickly.

They don’t cost to much maybe you should get one. I know where I live the local fish shops will test your water for you. This maybe an option as well.
