well i am feeding my two 4 inch oscars cichlid gold and they wont eat anything else. i bought some beef heart and he wont eat it is that a problem is there something i should do?

Don't feed for a few days and they will take anything they can get. Try feeding your fish something different each time U feed them. I my fish will get krill in the morning, and tubifex cubes when I come home and blood worms before bed

Long story short, no it's not a problem, Hikari Gold is a good staple pellet, everything else is just for fun after that
there really isn't a problem here at all...that is a good staple food like the above said. I think it would be counterproductive to start feeding frozen or live food to the fish at the moment...the last thing you want is for them to like that more and start refusing the pellets.

The last thing you want to do is get them hooked on low quality food such as beef heart, tubifex worms, and/or blood worms. Personally I wouldn't even feed that crap to my fish.
i would say this is a oscar. an oscar. ive nenver seen them reject much or refuse things. varied diet is highly imprtant in my eyes. i feed staple pellets and frozen and "gut loaded" non store boguht live livebearers, Spirulina, ect. ive had my oscar since he was 2" he a beautiful monster at 10". im not saying staple pellets are not good but i would say a varied diet is better. some other fish i would say be happy theyre eating pellets but if u introduce them to a variety of thing and feed pellets also (not at the same time) your oscar should not get hooked on frozen food. try feeding like said above different things and different times of the day. breakfast lunch and dinner. varied diet cant hurt. Saying that though i would say the treats should be beneficial to ur fish. beef heart is not one of those things i would recomend. you usually dont want to feed mammal products to fish. stick with wroms, shrimp, krill and other fish as treats.
Yea i agree oscars are pigs you go a day or two without feeding them they will eat anything......
