Oscar freaking out and turning green about beard algae?

Has anyone's Oscar ever just decided that something in its tank was the devil? He's doing the open-mouthed showdown at the glass and he's never done it this much or this long. The only thing new is a recent explosion of black beard algae on the sides and back, concentrated in the areas he gets angry at.

They do sometimes get moody about changes to their environment (territory). Sounds like something an oscar would do.

Mine would simply become accustomed to it. But not everyone's would.

oscars are silly i could definitely see that
